Judge slams gambling industry and regulators for wasting court time

The case of FreedomBet v Cum ended yesterday.

Mr S Cum (Stuart) had taken FreedomBet to court to try and get his account reinstated. Mr Cum had opened an account with FreedomBet in January and within four hours it was restricted to starting price only for horse race betting and closed within six hours. The justification for this was FreedomBets’ term and condition (T&C):

FreedomBet shall be entitled to close accounts at any time, without notice and for any reason, and to exclude the customer from further use of our services.
