William hill

Post by Cfinley » Tue Aug 06, 2019 8:26 am

Hi am having major issues with William hill refusing to activate my account after it being suspended due to standard security checks as they call it. I made my account some weeks ago made a deposit of 10 pounds and received some free bets. I bet my deposit and free bets and got up to 100 pounds. I then tried to withdraw but was unable to do so. I contacted them via online chat and was told in able to withdraw your funds you need to go store and deposit via cash direct then you can withdraw. I thought this was strange but I did it anyway after I went the store an made my deposit as advised by William hill I then tried to withdraw my funds and my. Account was immediately suspended I contacted William hill and they started asking me for all sorts of documents taking 48 hours each time to get back to me requested one document at a time. They asked for a bank statement then I'd provisional front and back then they asked for a picture me holding them I sent all that. Then they come back asking for another bank Statement showing the deposit to William hill the first one I made when I open my account bearing in mind when I opened my account I sent my id for verification and it was accepted straight away and my account was open. Everytime they ask for something they do it one at a time then take 48 hours to get back to me then request further documents. Am at a point now where am furious I have sent them over 25 documents pictures emails all sorts and am at a standstill. They are now asking for my medical information asking if am on medication and if I have problems with gambling. Am absolutely furious I only opened the account a few weeks ago made a small deposit of ten pounds won some money now all this and there refusing to give me my money back plus the further ten pounds they told me to deposit which I think is theft in its self is there anything I can do at all am not really bothered about the 100 pound tbh its more the fact of what there doing to me how there going about it and how they made me. Make another deposit just to suspend my account for no reason what so ever.

Hi,

Thank you for your post.

Based on what you've outlined and nothing else, e.g. I don't have WH's side of the story; this would appear to be absolutely disgusting behaviour and indefensible, so I doubt I need WH's side?

I've attached our advisory leaflet that outlines the options open to you. I would also ask you to report your case to the UK Gambling Commission. Their contact points are: info@gamblingcommission.gov.uk & Tel: 0121 230 6666. It's very important that you do this.

Best of luck and if you don't get your money do come back to me.

Hi thanks for the reply they emailed me this morning saying the management and security team have re open my account completely and I can now continue to use all William Hills service and withdraw. I tried to withdraw an it keeps coming up with verification errors I phoned them up and there now saying my account has not been reactivated and another security check has been activated on the account I don't have no idea what's going on there contradicting them selves and i think it's ridiculous thanks for your help though will definitely do that.

Thanks for the update.

No surprises about the chaos; utter shambles. Whatever happens do not let them keep your money. Come back to me if you don't receive it.

Currently there is an active thread on the Betfair Forum " William Hill Profits Fall " and imo every punter should read post 3.

Thanks Mick.

There's quite a few good articles on it as well: https://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/mar ... -rise.html & https://www.ft.com/content/027f4eb8-ba7 ... 6628ac896c

Like many bookies their main focus is America and other more established, but weaker regulated markets. Greater regulation of casino gaming type products in the UK is a nightmare for them. When it comes online and it will, the UK will be an even lower priority.
