Bet 365 Account Heavily Restrictec

Post by skippy1975 » Sat Jan 19, 2019 6:50 pm

I’m new to this site but thought I’d share my experience with365 which has been fine up until the past couple of weeks. I received a mail from them withdrawing any offers and best odds which was disappointing but I accepted it. They failed to mention that I was restricted in any way so decided to mail them copying in Mrs Coates! They called me the following day stating the usual bull that it’s a traders decision blah blah and also had the cheek to ask me not to mail her again!!!!!
Anyway used the template I found on this site asking for data to be removed from their system etc and got the below back - my question is do I accept this or is there any other way of nailing them ?

Hi,

Thank you for your post.

Regarding your restricted account, as I'm sure you know this is standard practice. Modern bookmakers do not trade with anyone who may make regular money from them, however small that amount maybe, which is the crucial aspect. Nobody expects profit driven companies to let someone win 20, 30, 40K every year off them, but when the restrictions are blanket just for displaying skill; its ludicrous.

Re your request for data erasure: Their reply doesn't reflect the laws and regulations as they presently stand dependent on what you have gambled on. As an example sports betting isn't covered by anti-money laundering legislation, but casino gambling is. Nevertheless, you won't get Bet365 to change their mind and neither will you get any support from the Gambling Commission or the Information's Commissioner's Office. We've corresponded with and met with all the relevant regulators and they have no intention of making gambling companies abide by EU/UK privacy law.

I'm sorry I can't offer you any hope, but we tell the truth at J4P. I would encourage you to ring and/or send emails to the ICO and GC about your treatment as the contact will get logged, but as I say, don't expect any genuine help or clarification on the exact laws or licensing rules applicable to your experience.

How can government departments refuse to enforce the law?

Surely this is media / news worthy in itself to shame the government into enforcing its own laws?

It sucks you can't be forgotten otherwise I'd close the accounts I've been gubbed at wait 3-5 years and rejoin hopefully no longer remembered and thus not gubbed.
Go Lions!

We're working on this in various ways. All private at present, because our public work on it has failed due to a lack of action by the ICO. I apologise I can't say more but we don't want the regulators to get a 'heads up'.
