SUN BET

Post by mick » Tue Aug 23, 2016 8:09 am

I do not read The Sun so have no idea Re what they are saying about there new on line bookmaking venture. I note it is up and running so guess I will have to Reg but there own racing journalists will be very aware of the increasing neg publicity Re punitive bet restrictions and I wonder how they intend to play this.? Has anyone placed horse racing bets with them so far.?

Hi Mick,

I cannot say I have used them yet... however they are claiming a promotion paid back in CASH and not free bets...

So far it is fairly promising, but I suspect they only created the site to get a slice of the easy money every other bookmaker are stealing. Plus as your well aware, you dont need to be a bookmaker to take bets anymore so I guess thats the case when you apply for a licence . Considering they specialise in making up storeys. I suspect they wont take bets either.

This company needs a watching brief.

My contacts in Australia tell me that their owners TabCorp are honouring the minimum bet laws 100% in Aus. They are a huge company, so can certainly afford to do it here, but as you say, it is much less likely as our regulators don't understand the morals of betting.

Their main reason for being here is revenge. TabCorp feel the European corporates have been stealing their business unfairly, e.g. not paying full Aussie taxes like them and trying to break Aussie betting laws by introducing in-play from foreign servers etc. So, why not get Murdoch's empire in to to help.

Cheers guys generally i like to get my money placed the evening before but sometimes possible going changes and or an anticipated price drift means waiting until on the day so i shall open an account with them and see what occasions.! Because of the Australian connection it would be sweet indeed if they followed same. !

Worth a try.

Another one for your consideration. The following company approached us about 6 weeks a go to ask if we would mention them on the website. I said no, until they had been trading for at least 4-6 weeks, so we could get feedback. See this: https://www.blacktype.bet/why-black-type/

If they do what they are claiming and I'm told it is being run by very experienced bookmaking staff, they should be supported. However, it is sensible to outline STRONGLY we do not know what will happen and a number of new companies have come and gone quickly over the last couple of years, so do be careful with any deposits you make if you decide to open an account. Best to be conservative to start with.

IMO black type betting site, seems a little too good to be true. If they turn out to be genuine than I am all for it but somehow just dont see it.

Hope I am wrong, their odds seem fair of what I have had a look at so far. If there aim is to set the way then I am all for it and good luck to them.

What would also be nice of blacktype betting is to promise they will not build a casino if business should grow. Maybe some sort of promise to only offer fair and open betting and to be a true bookmaker.

We agree with what you say. Time will tell.

Our first feedback from a person who is a well known 'winner' (100s of accounts closed), is that they laid him £40ew at 10-1 early morning yesterday. He asked for £50ew, but they did lay him the promised £500. So, a good start, but only one bet. Early morning, taking a price in double figures, ew; if it was some of the established bookies he the account would already be flagged 'red'.

Can't comment on verification, etc - too early.

We'll see.
